When trying to add a little more character to a room, people often opt for simple additions: a couple paintings, some framed photos, or maybe a colorful tapestry. But when these guys found themselves with a boring, empty wall in their home, they didn't want to do just any old thing with it.
They didn't decide to paint it or install a home theater -- I'd argue that they did something far more incredible...check it out!
If you think these look like old fences...you're right, because they are.
The wood was in rough shape, so it needed some TLC before it was usable again.
They began by cutting and shaping the wood with a table saw.
Once everything was cut and sanded, they added a layer of sealant.
The sprayed-on solution would help prevent rotting.
After the sealant dried, the real work began!
Noting the studs in the walls first, they then nailed the boards up, beginning from the top.
And here's the finished accent wall.
Looks pretty incredible.

Not everyone would look at an old, run-down fence and see this as an end result! It's incredible how a simple change to one wall can alter the dynamic of an entire room. Would you try this at home? I already have a wall I want to start on.
