A Fisherman Managed To Reel In A Giant Monster Of A Creature While On A Beach

When Brendon Hilder headed down to the shore at Shelley Beach in Western Australia, he planned on a lazy day of salmon fishing. However, Mother Nature had other plans. Not long after Hilder baited his lines, instead of catching a few small fish, Hilder hooked a giant, 12-foot-long tiger shark.

The tiger shark had been near the shore feeding on the migrating salmon. Typically, tiger sharks remain in deeper waters near the tropical coast. However, they have been known to pursue prey into the shallows.

They're also not a species that you want to mess with. The tiger shark is sometimes referred to as the "man-eater shark."

With a massive tiger shark hooked on a small hand reel, most people would have just given up. Not Hilder. For the next two hours, Hilder and the tiger shark fought for supremacy, with neither giving in.

Finally, with the help of a passerby, Hilder managed to land the shark. When they hauled it up on shore, they got a good look at what they were up against: a massive, 12 foot beast.

Hilder posed for a few photos with the shark before releasing it back into the ocean.

Hilder actually got pretty lucky with this tiger shark encounter. In some cases, tiger sharks can grow up to 16 feet long. Something tells me if Hilder had gone up against one of those, things wouldn't have gone quite his way.
