Fort Paull is an old, Napoleonic era fort in the north of England near Yorkshire. From 1861 to 1964, Fort Paull was an active military site. Today, it's a historic heritage museum operated by the Friends of Fort Paull.
One of the fort's current attractions is an extensive collection of wax figures that attempt to illustrate significant events in military history. Unfortunately for the operators of Fort Paull, these wax mannequins are more terrifying than informative, as Redditor Billogi found out last year during a visit. Lucky for us Billogi managed to take a few pictures before fleeing in terror. This museum literally looks like a dungeon.

History is usually pretty terrifying all on its own. There shouldn't be any need to throw extra creepy wax mannequins into the mix. Maybe Fort Paull should start advertising itself as a haunted house instead of a museum?
